Beyond athletics, Kelly was very focused on her grades, which led her to add five-time /Cum Laude /Dean’s List achievement, Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll every semester enrolled and Academic All-Big 12 1^st Team three consecutive years. She understands how tough it is to juggle athletics and academics, and provides an outstanding example of what can be achieved through discipline and hard work. After Puerto Rico Kelly traveled wither her husband to Germany where he played and coached baseball professionally. Thank you for Dallas Showcase

On behalf of everyone associated with The Sport Source family we would like to take a minute to thank all of the participating teams and coaches for helping to put together another tremendous event that once again has helped to promote student athletes in an environment where College coaches can evaluate talent in a quality environment.

We are proud to say that we had another outstanding array of over 265 College coaches attend the 17th Annual Sport Source Showcase and Clinic.

The continued success of this event is all due to the coming together of a number of different groups who truly feel that the players are the focal point of the weekend and everyone associated with the Showcase strive to give them the opportunity to showcase their talents in a relaxed environment.

On Friday we kicked off the weekend with the Clinic at The University of Texas Dallas where we had over 250 players working with college coaches in a training environment that was both challenging and fun.

We would also like to say a big thank you to the referees for all of their hard work throughout the weekend and finally to the City of Plano for providing the Russell Creek Soccer Complex as well as the parks staff for ensuring the fields and facilities were top notch.

We look forward to having everyone attend The 18th Annual Sport Source Showcase and Clinic in 2008.

  • I just wanted to take a minute and say a big thanks to you and everyone who was associated with the Junior/Senior Sport Source tournament over the weekend. The tournament was run extremely well with no problems that we were aware of. We were able to get a number of our girls who have not already committed to do so over this past weekend. And, really that is what it is all about. You folks run a first class operation and allow these young ladies and coaches, the opportunity to finalize the next step in their young lives. Thanks for all the hard work and what you do for the soccer players of the Dallas area.
  • We all at AHFC appreciate what you do for our club and giving the boys an opportunity to be expose to top notch coaches around the country.
  • I want to thank you again for all your help this past weekend. The team did very well, Craig was a wonderful addition to the team, and I talked my head off with more then enough coaches to make sure all the guys will have a few choices of schools to play at. Our hotel, the Hyatt Place was excellent and we had nothing but great comments from all the parents and boys. Please keep them as a hotel choice because I will tell future teams what a good value it is.

  • I want to thank you guys very much for taking such good care of me and my family. I enjoyed working with everyone once again this year. I know this is a great opportunity for kids and coaches to come together. I hope this showcase continues for many years. Miss Mia is still talking about her new Aunt Lisa. Thanks for the opportunity, keep up the good work!

  • THANKS!! for arranging for Stina and Megan Thompson to guest play with TFC 91. The tournament was fun for both of them. Ed P. was great-- he gave both plenty of playing time. The team was very friendly-- I know that Stina made some new friends there. I saw you and Charlie on Sunday morning but you were busy, busy, so I just kept on going. Charlie commented on my blue rainsuit-- it did make the rain stop just before our 8:00 game. It sure turned into a perfect day. Anyway-- she had a great time, got some college scout looks, and it was a very enjoyable experience for everyone. Thanks again for connecting her with TFC this past weekend and with TEXANS GR 90 WEST at Texas Cup. Both experiences were great confidence builders for her. Please keep me on your mailing list-- I have many more 91's, 92's and 93's than 90's on my roster. Some would benefit from a connection with Sport Source.

    With best regards,

  • A very sincere and BIG THANK YOU for everything this weekend. As a Mom you dream about having something wonderful like a Coach offer your daughter a Scholarship after a College Showcase, or a College Coach tell you he would call you this week. I was blessed to have both! You are a true professional, and friend. Thank you for everything.

  • I just wanted to say thank you all of your help in getting our team to the Showcase! Our team attended and had a great time.

  • Thank you. You have been awesome. I am so sorry to be such a pain but with real work and managing a team with 4 tournaments in a row, I am just out of whack! I am normally pretty organized. I thank you for your help. Also, just wanted to mention that the check-in was painless and a breeze compared to most tournaments that I have been to. I have been doing the manager thing for 5+ years and this was by far the easiest tournament check in that I have ever had to do.

I also attended the college combine today with my son and was VERY impressed at not only the number of players that were in attendance but the number of college coaches. It was a great turnout. I wish I could say that we would be back but unfortunately it is our last year. I have already recommended it to our coach for his younger team though.
  • I wanted to thank you for all your help orgainizing the tournament. You were great in supplying information and the tournament went off very well for us.
    Thank you again,

  • In business and particularly when dealing with over a thousand elite soccer players and their parents, one rarely hears good news. Somehow players, parents, coaches, and even the local community can always can find things to complain about. Well, as a coach of over thirty years I want Charlie Kadupski, you, and your staff to know how effective the recent Soccer Showcase in Dallas was.

As you know I have attended The Sport Source's Showcase in Dallas for many years. I have always felt that it was one of the finest showcases anywhere in the country. Your staff is informative, professional, and caring not only to the college coaches but to the parents and players as well.

I have continued to be impressed with the operation of the showcase. The organization of it down to the clean up of the playing fields is nothing less than top of the line.

In speaking with many parents over the weekend they also felt the quality of hotels that worked with The Sport Source was impressive. I know that the Crown Plaza Hotel was a pleasure to stay at and that I have always felt the coaches hotel was tremendous.

Possibly the most important thing is the quality of players The Sport Source has attend the showcase. Over the years I have had more success recruiting from this showcase than any other one held in the nation. The players, both men and women, have gone on to be quality college students and players. Of all the recruits (and I have had a few over the years) the best have come from the The Sport Source Showcase.

Please compliment your staff and of course Charlie for a tremendous job. If I can do anything to further the success of not only the showcase but The Sport Source as well do not hesitate to contact me. It is a pleasure to work with an organization of this magnitude.

    Dr. Kenneth DeCook, EDd.

  • Thanks so much for accommodating Adam and I at the Sports Source in Dallas. You and your entire staff did a great job making us feel welcomed and assisted us with everything we needed. It made our task of evaluating players a lot easier.

“WRESTLING” The College Selection Process

Plano, TX- Today college cost and average family $122,350. This makes finding the ideal academic institution a stressful process to most. In addition, finding the right University with a Wrestling program can seem overwhelming. The Sport Source® answers this need by offering College Planning Seminars to the Wrestling Community around the country through its partnership with the National Collegiate Wrestling Association and its member collegiate coaches.

Since 1989, The Sport Source® has been dedicated to providing resources and services for college planning to athletes, parents, coaches, and administrators. The mission is to provide the perfect link between the student-athlete, a specialized sports program, and a well-rounded college education. Through educational seminars, college guides, workbooks, website and online college scholarship program MATCHFIT®, The Sport Source® annually helps 4.4 million families each year reach their goal of finding the right educational institution both academically and athletically. Founder and CEO, Charlie Kadupski is a former Scholar Athlete, college and professional athlete, and former USSF staff member.

The majority of students and parents believe talented high school student-athletes are actively recruited and offered "full-ride" sports and academic scholarships by Division I colleges and coaches. The reality is that only 2% of these student-athletes are "actively recruited" by leading college coaches, leaving the remaining 98% to "recruit themselves" through self-directed efforts.

The Sport Source® has teamed up with the NCWA College Wrestling Coaches around the country to dispel the “Myths and Realities” surrounding the college selection process. The College Planning Seminars will give families the resources to find the perfect fit academically and athletically and learn how to utilize academic and athletic accomplishments to receive scholarships, that help make paying for college easy.

The college admissions process is highly competitive. Admissions officers are looking for the brightest and best and the college coach is looking to recruit the student-athlete who is committed to academic and athletic excellences. When a student-athlete is organized, the college selection process is easy, especially when students and parents are realistic. Students are encouraged to start the colleges search as early as the freshman year in high school so they can get a “jump-start” and learn how the process works. By the time the student is a senior in high school they will have developed an “action plan” that works with measurable results. The Sport Source’s® proven methodology and collegiate scholarship tools are organized and presented as a “roadmap” for success at any stage of the game.

Hosted by College Coaches, The College Planning Seminars are fun, interactive and deliver the concrete facts. Topics include Admissions, Financial Aid, NCAA Rules, NJCAA and NAIA eligibility, What College Coaches Look for in a Student-Athlete, The Student-Athletes Role and Responsibility, Getting Noticed and Recruited by College Coaches, The Parent’s Role and Responsibility, How to Construct a Resume and Cover Letter and so much more!

What are the educational experts saying?

Education Weekly reports a lack of resources for counselors and teachers has resulted in students not being prepared for the college selection process. While computers and Internet connections are proliferating in classrooms and homes, evidence continues to mount confirming that the technology and resources available are not being used effectively to assist students.

The Milliken Exchange noted that teachers are poorly trained and are provided limited resources to help student’s find the right college or university where their academic and/or athletic accomplishments will help make paying for college easier.
