Tips For Preparing To Go To College

1. Maintain a decent GPA!!!!!!!
2. Even if you're satisfied with your SAT score retake it as many times as you can.
3. If you score low on your SAT do not be afraid to look into Junior Colleges.
4. Do not limit yourself only to local colleges, most likely they will be the only schools that will recruit you solely because they are the only schools who know of you.
5. Let Colleges know who you are; call or write the admissions department.
6. Smaller schools will cost more, but usually will have triple the graduation rate.
7. DO NOT BE AFRAID OF THE EXPENSE GOING TO COLLEGE; IF THERE IS A WILL THERE IS AWAY.

Tips For Athletes

1. Never think that you are not good enough to play college athletics. College athletics is not just limited to Division I caliber athletes.
2. Do not depend on your coach to help you get a scholarship. They most likely will not help you as much as they should.
3. Do not depend on a scout to find you. Usually, the only way they can get your information is through your coach.
4. Do not pay a recruiting agency to help you find a scholarship. Call or e-mail the colleges yourself and ask to speak with a coach. College coaches would much rather be approached by an honest student rather than a stingy agent.
5. If you play a secondary sport such as tennis, golf, cross-country ect…..No matter how good you are there will always be scholarship money available somewhere.
