I am asked, "What attributes do you look for in a rower?" That's a pretty general question. The answer depends largely on more specific attributes. Are we talking about psychological attributes or athletic accomplishments or perhaps the size of an athlete? There are several programs to choose from across the country and each has different culture. Most, however, will have the same philosophies with regard to the specific attributes of the high school athlete.

Camps and clinics are great resources for high school athletes to learn some of these higher levels of technical requirements.

Successful college programs usually run camps, so much of what a high school athlete needs to know as a collegiate student-athlete can be learned from the camps regardless of physical stature.
