J. RICHARD WHITE

J. Richard White is a 1969 graduate of Southern Methodist University with a B.B.A. in accounting and earned his M.B.A. in finance in 1970. He attended SMU School of Law and earned his J.D. in 1973 and his LL.M. (in taxation) in 1977. He is a member of the College of the State Bar of Texas and a Charter member of the Texas College of Real Estate Attorneys, and has been honored by inclusion in Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers of Texas, Who's Who in America, Who's Who in American Law and Who's Who in the World.

Mr. White is a shareholder in the Dallas law firm of Winstead P.C., and is engaged in the representation of businesses, real estate developers and lenders. His work focuses on financing transaction of all varieties: construction and development lending, bond financings, sale-leaseback transactions, tax-exempt financing, mezzanine financing, warehouse financing, securitization transactions, synthetic lease financing and venture capital financing. Mr. White is also a State Bar of Texas certified specialist in Commercial Real Estate Law.

From an academic perspective, Mr. White is a frequent speaker, with over 35 national and state presentations on real estate and financing topics and has authored over 30 scholarly publications. Mr. White has served as an adjunct professor of Real Estate Law at North Lake College in Dallas, and was instrumental in establishing the SMU Law School Client Counseling program and coached the SMU team, in its inaugural year, to the State of Texas Client counseling competition finals. He has been active in professional activities, having served as an officer and director of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and Texas Association of Young Lawyers, and on numerous state and national committees including the ABA Committees on Land Surveys, and Mortgage Loan Structure and Originations, and the State Bar of Texas Committee on Mortgage Loan Opinions.

With respect to management, Mr. White served for 2 years on the Board of Directors and an additional 2 years as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Texas Lawyers Credit Union during its formative period and presided over the first dividends paid by that financial institution. During his tenure with the Winstead law firm, Mr. White has served in numerous capacities. For over 12 years, Mr. White was the person responsible for all professional hiring for Winstead. He also served on the firm's Executive Committee (the chief policy making committee) for over 5 years and the firm's Compensation Committee (having the final decision for all professional compensation matters) for 3 years.

Mr. White has been actively involved in a number of civic matters including sports associations (President, North Texas Premier Soccer Association; President, Lake Highlands Soccer Association; member of WorldCup USA 1994 Dallas Venue; and MLS Cup 2006 Host Committee), SMU Alumni Association, the SMU Dad's Club and the Mustang Club, the Dallas Real Estate Council (Member of Regional Mobility Task Force and Downtown Dallas Revitalization Committee), City of Dallas Industrial Development Committee and City of Dallas' Higher Education Authority, Inc.
