JAMES H. RANDOLPH
Mr. Randolph is President of Randolph Management, LLC, the General Partner of Kestrel Partners, a consulting firm he founded in 1986. His expertise is advising clients in financial management, strategic planning and acquisitions.
Mr. Randolph’s direct participation in over 40 transactions has involved total consideration in excess of $4 billion. He led Santa Fe International’s aggressive M&A program following its acquisition by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. He created and let corporate development M&A organizations at Diamond Shamrock Corporation and Kaneb Services, Inc., both NYSE-listed firms. He was CFO of Santa Fe Minerals, a $200 Million international oil and gas production company.
Mr. Randolph’s background is quite diverse, leading the privatization of a 1,400 person E&C company in East Berlin, directing a $100 million I.P.O. of a master limited partnership, assisting entrepreneurs in the start-up of an online retailer, direct involvement in two corporate turnarounds (one as a member of the Board of Directors of a public company) and the acquisition of a power plant and its geothermal steam reserves. Industry coverage is broad including specialty retail, oil and gas production, refining and marketing, process engineering, electric power, industrial services, software and training services, full service restaurants, EMS helicopters, amusement parks, and contract drilling.
Mr. Randolph began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Los Angeles, following his graduation from the University of Southern California (MBA 1970). He is a 1969 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, having majored in marketing and accounting.
